Diploma of Information and Communication Systems Engineer from University of Aegean, Greece
Vasileios Gkamas was born in Ioannina, Greece in 1981. He obtained his Diploma of Information and Communication Systems Engineer from University of Aegean, Greece, in 2004 and his MSc and PhD from Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics, University of Patras, Greece, in 2007 and 2016 respectively. His research interests include protocols and algorithms for optical networks and distributed systems.
Since 2006, he is with the Greek School Network and Networking Technologies Directorate of Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diophantus” participating in numerous National and European projects at the area of large-scale high-speed networks, e-infrastructures and electronic services, initially as a users' and systems' support engineer and then as a project manager. Also, he has participated at the preparation of various proposals at the area of ICT, submitted to national calls (National Strategic Reference Framework) and European calls (FP7, Horizon 2020, Interreg, Erasmus+). Since 2007, he is a adjustant lecturer at various Greek Higher Education Institutes (Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece, Technological Educational Institute of Athens, Athens University of Economics and Business).
He has published 19 papers in various well-known refereed books, international conferences and journals.
