Dr. Prodromos Makris was born in Samos Island, Greece in 1985. He holds a 5-year Diploma in Information and Communication Systems Engineering (2007), a MSc (honors) in Communication and Computer Networking Technologies (2009) and PhD in "Context aware resource management for mobile and fixed networking systems" (2013) from University of the Aegean, Greece. He has worked as a junior researcher/ICT engineer for the Computer and Communications Systems Laboratory (CCSL) in the department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering (2007-2013). Since October 2013, he works as a postdoctoral researcher at Communication Networks Laboratory (CNL) of the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department in the University of Patras and Computer Technology Institute & Press Diophantus (CTI). During the last years, he has been actively participating in several national and EC-funded projects (e.g. FP6-IST-UNITE, FP7-ICT-HURRICANE, FP7-ICT-PASSIVE, FP7-ICT-COGEU, COSMOTE PEDION 24, FP7-ICT-IDEALIST, FP7-ICT-VIMSEN, etc). His research interests include QoS provisioning in 4G (& beyond) heterogeneous network technologies, context-aware mobile and wireless networking and smart energy grid networks. He has published more than 20 scientific papers in international conferences and journals. He is an IEEE member and also a member of Technical Chamber of Greece.
